So here we have made a list of the world’s 5 most powerful surface ships which has always dominated the military power of a country.

Kirov-class missile cruiser:

This is the largest surface vessel which is built by any nation after World war 2. Because of their firepower and sheer size, these ships are often referred to as a battlecruiser. There are 4 ships in this class which area and each of them are 823 feet long. These ships can displace 24300 tons and can speed up to 32 knots because of the presence of Combined Nuclear and Steam (CONAS), which generates 600 megawatts of powder. Amongst the 4 ships, only 2 are in service, which is Petr Velikiy and Admiral Nakhimov.

Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser:

These were the earliest American ships which equipped with the SM-2 air defense missiles, SPY-1 radar, and the Aegis combat system. The major mission of these ships was to defend the US Navy carriers, however, they are multipurpose ships which are capable of engaging in anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare. These ships also have some of the world’s largest missile magazines. They are also capable of transporting the Navies new anti-ship versions of Tomahawk, long-range anti-ship missile and the Harpoon anti-ship missile.

Kongo-class guided missile destroyer:

These ships are the virtual copies of American Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers. There 4 ships which are included in this class: Kongo, Kirishima, Chokai, and Myoko. All of these are 528 feet long and are capable of displacing 9400 tons. This class of ships were mainly designed to be the guardians of Japan and are equipped with the SM-3 missile interceptor. Two of these ships are however are capable of protecting the country from ballistic missile attack.

Type 055-class guided missile destroyer:

The ships of this class are 590 feet long which makes them longer than all the Ticonderogas ships. The key feature of these ships is that they have a total 112 vertical launch silos and each of them can carry land attack cruise missiles, YJ-18A, and YJ-100 anti-ship cruise missiles, or HQ-9B long-range air defense missiles. China recently launched two Type 055s simultaneously in the month of July in 2018, with six under varying degrees of construction. It is believed that the country will have a requirement for at least 8 of these destroyers.

Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer:

This class was named after the renowned destroyer commander, Arleigh Albert Burke. These are extremely large surface combatants and the earliest ship of this class entered in service in the year 1991. The length of these ships is 505 feet and they can displace about 7,900 tons. All the ships of this class are equipped with ninety-six vertical launch silos, a single five-inch dual purpose gun, Harpoon anti-ship missiles, and the SPY-1 radar and Aegis Combat System.
